Position Overview

This role focuses on the strategic procurement of goods and services essential for the production and distribution of Doosan Bobcat offerings. The commodities involved will primarily encompass indirect sourcing items, including services utilized across various business functions such as Human Resources, Marketing, and IT.

The Category Leader is accountable for managing a distinct category of products or services within the company. This includes formulating and executing category strategies aimed at enhancing business performance and optimizing expenditures.

The individual will maintain relationships with designated accounts and collaborate with suppliers to ensure the delivery of quality products at competitive prices and within required timelines.



Key Responsibilities

Supply Chain Management:

  • Oversee the strategic development of assigned suppliers.
  • Stay informed about market trends and changes within supplier organizations that could impact our partnerships.
  • Experience in managing a specific commodity is essential.

New Product Development Support:

  • Assist the organization in all new product development initiatives and value analysis/value engineering projects.
  • Ensure that effective product launch strategies are established during the New Product Development stages, including aftermarket considerations.

Strategic Planning:

  • Formulate commodity strategies.
  • Align and implement these strategies across the organization.

Project Management:

  • Facilitate project completion while providing mentorship.
  • Support project initiatives within cross-functional teams.

General Skills & Knowledge:

  • Exhibit adaptability to change and proactively seek solutions while aligning with management objectives.
  • Capable of developing business cases by synthesizing forecast trend data into actionable strategies.
  • Possess strong knowledge of the assigned commodity.
  • Build a reputation for delivering results and establishing credibility.
  • Maintain professionalism and composure in challenging situations.
  • Encourage strong, collaborative relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.

Communication & Interpersonal Skills:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization and escalate issues to sourcing leadership as necessary.
  • Capable of reporting on business updates and supplier performance to management.



Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related disciplines.
  • Experience: Approximately 2+ years in a relevant field.
  • A degree in Supply Chain may substitute for experience.
  • Travel: 20-40% travel may be required.
  • Global travel may be occasional.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all organizational levels, from shop floor personnel to senior executives.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment in decision-making processes, considering various alternatives.
  • Possess leadership skills to influence others in adopting and implementing action plans.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
