Position Overview:

We are in search of a proactive and results-driven Strategic National Account Executive to manage our current retail and distributor partnerships while pursuing new business avenues within the wild bird seed and poultry feed markets. The successful candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of our offerings and excel in cultivating robust customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Strategy and Implementation:

Develop and maintain relationships with existing retail and distributor accounts, ensuring exceptional customer service. Create and execute annual sales plans tailored to each major account, aligning with the company's strategic goals. Identify sales opportunities, assess market dynamics, and monitor competitor activities to refine sales tactics. Formulate account-specific strategies to enhance sales growth, boost market share, and surpass revenue expectations. Conduct regular field visits to engage with current and potential customers, dedicating up to 35% of time to in-person interactions. Propose innovative products and programs customized to meet specific customer requirements. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure cohesive execution of sales objectives and plans. Adjust customer pricing in response to fluctuations in grain markets. Oversee a diverse product range, monitoring inventory levels to guarantee product availability and timely order fulfillment.

Territory Management and Client Relations:

Establish and nurture strong, enduring customer relationships by understanding their needs, including key accounts, retailers, distributors, and brokers. Enhance existing relationships while cultivating new connections within the assigned channel. Manage agreements and interactions with brokers and distributors. Coordinate with inside sales representatives to keep account information and materials current. Maintain up-to-date accounts receivable for the customer portfolio, addressing any discrepancies or late payments. Estimate delivery timelines based on knowledge of production and logistics schedules. Continuously seek to expand the customer base and identify new business prospects to enhance market presence.

Qualifications:

4-6 years of experience in retail sales or account management, ideally within the seed or grain sectors, including wild bird seed or poultry feed. Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Demonstrated success in national account management, driving revenue growth, and fostering strong customer relationships. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, effective in building and maintaining relationships with diverse stakeholders. Results-oriented with a proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities. Strong negotiation, sales, presentation, and problem-solving skills. Proficient in financial selling and adept at forming business partnerships that facilitate closing sales. Excellent time management skills to effectively juggle various responsibilities. Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and capable of learning internal ERP systems.
