Position Overview

The Construction Project Coordinator plays a vital role within the project team, overseeing comprehensive project risk management. This includes proactive planning, contracting, and overall management of the requirements for one or multiple construction initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the project team, including Superintendents, Engineers, and Field Staff, to ensure successful project delivery within budget and on schedule.
  • Assist in the development and advertisement of bid packages.
  • Support estimating and management of pre-construction and construction services.
  • Prepare documentation for guaranteed maximum price compliance with owner contracts.
  • Coordinate project initiation with the Superintendent and maintain site logistics.
  • Create and manage project budgets, overseeing financial projections for labor, materials, and equipment.
  • Identify and manage risks related to budget, schedule, and quality throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct reviews for constructability, value engineering, and life-cycle cost analysis.
  • Understand and manage project plans, contracts, and specifications to ensure compliance.
  • Track productivity and forecast labor needs, managing requests for information and procurement processes.
  • Provide regular financial forecasts and project reports to the accounting department and executive team.
  • Maintain relationships with clients, designers, and subcontractors, ensuring timely billing and contract compliance.
  • Review and approve subcontractor billings and manage financial risks associated with the project.
  • Oversee compliance with public contracting laws and reporting requirements.
  • Maintain a log of subcontract changes to monitor financial exposure.
  • Ensure all materials and equipment meet contract specifications throughout the project.
  • Assist project teams with requests for information to prevent scheduling delays.
  • Manage project changes and ensure timely communication of cost and schedule impacts.
  • Participate in weekly meetings with owners, architects, and contractors.
  • Collaborate with the Superintendent to develop and update the project master schedule.
  • Understand construction laws, codes, and best practices relevant to project management.
  • Ensure adherence to safety and quality control programs across the project team.
  • Manage the project closeout process, providing all necessary documentation as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of management and project management experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, Project, and Bluebeam.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
  • Experience with financial and construction project management software.
  • Customer-oriented approach with a professional demeanor.
  • Valid driver's license and insurable driving record.
