As a Site Operations Manager, you will oversee the complete construction process from project initiation to final completion of all assigned tasks. Key responsibilities include assessing construction feasibility, evaluating products, estimating costs, managing bids, administering contracts, controlling expenses, handling RFIs, processing submittals, maintaining document control, overseeing field operations, ensuring quality, enforcing safety protocols, and facilitating project closeout.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Guarantee full compliance with company safety policies and cultural practices.
  • Innovate construction processes by streamlining systems and methods through technology.
  • Manage project scheduling from the master plan to a 4-week look ahead, from conceptual design to project completion.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Assist in providing accurate and detailed estimates for a variety of projects.
  • Support the selection process of subcontractors and suppliers during bidding and budgeting phases.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Designers, and Superintendents on the estimating process to ensure accuracy, including constructability reviews, preconstruction planning, and site logistics throughout design and construction phases.
  • Responsible for recruiting, training, mentoring, and developing team members, particularly at the field level.
  • Track, notify, and obtain client approvals for changes before proceeding with work.
  • Utilize project management tools effectively for communication with clients, designers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Contribute to material take-offs and ordering, review submittals against contract documents, and assemble and submit Requests for Information.
  • Document and manage changes in project scope and track all associated costs.
  • Utilize company tools and equipment while managing proper usage and billing of rental equipment.
  • Ensure accurate task coding of work hours on timecards and material purchases.
  • Identify and mitigate unfavorable working conditions commonly found in the region.
  • Document and manage the timely completion of all punch list items and support final closeout documentation for client acceptance.
  • Foster a positive company culture and be a collaborative team player.

Success in this Role:

  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to take initiative, exercise sound judgment, and demonstrate a strong sense of urgency while managing multiple projects to completion.
  • Proficient in construction processes and best practices, with familiarity across various building types and envelopes.
  • Ability to coordinate necessary resources, personnel, processes, time, and tools to meet tight schedules and client expectations while managing conflicting priorities.
  • Proficient in project-specific software systems.
  • Strong leadership qualities and problem-solving skills; detail-oriented and deadline-driven.
  • Comprehensive skills in construction mathematics, including the ability to calculate area, volume, and circumference.
  • Effectively manage conflicts and changes, identifying root causes and providing prompt solutions.

Position Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience as a Site Operations Manager with a General Contractor in commercial construction.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting construction documents.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, BlueBeam, Adobe, and collaborative project management software.
  • Must possess a valid state-approved driver's license with a clean driving record.
