Illumination Foundation (IF) is an expanding non-profit organization committed to breaking the cycle of homelessness by offering specialized, interdisciplinary services in our recuperative care centers, emergency shelters, housing programs, and family support initiatives.

With over 13 facilities and more than 22 micro-communities throughout Orange County, Los Angeles County, and the Inland Empire, we are making a difference.

Position Overview


The Community Housing Coordinator plays a vital, community-focused role that involves providing direct transitional support to a manageable caseload of clients within our service area.

This position requires individuals who are adaptable, resourceful, personable, collaborative, and possess strong critical thinking abilities.

Engagement will be both remote and in-person as needed, with a primary focus on delivering effective transitional support to homeless and other at-risk populations.

Compensation
The hourly wage for this role is $25.00, commensurate with experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and cultivate housing options for programs across the organization.
  • Establish partnerships with property managers and landlords to enhance housing resources.
  • Perform housing inspections to ensure compliance with HUD Housing Habitability standards.
  • Conduct utility inspections and generate detailed reports.
  • Complete rent reasonableness assessments in line with HUD guidelines.
  • Verify client rent payments on a monthly basis.
  • Assist case managers and clients with housing applications, searches, and connections.

Uphold ethical standards that reflect the core values of integrity, transparency, accountability, respect, and responsibility. Maintain a high level of professionalism in all interactions with colleagues, volunteers, donors, and stakeholders.

Qualifications

Required:
  • Valid CA Driver's License and eligibility for company vehicle insurance.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong customer and client relations skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, etc.).
  • Knowledge of HUD Housing inspections and reporting.
  • Understanding of the housing rental market and property management.
Preferred:
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in Sales and Property Management.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
