Position Overview:

The Mechanical Project Engineer will play a crucial role in overseeing HVAC and plumbing piping initiatives, ensuring timely completion, adherence to budget constraints, and maintenance of superior quality standards. The successful candidate will possess a solid foundation in mechanical systems, outstanding organizational capabilities, and a proactive mindset for addressing challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Assistance:

  • Support the Project Manager throughout all stages of project execution, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and coordination.
  • Examine project plans, specifications, and contracts to gain a comprehensive understanding of the project scope and requirements.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Work closely with subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel to ensure the timely delivery and installation of materials and equipment.
  • Engage effectively with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders, providing updates and addressing any concerns.

Quality Assurance & Safety:

  • Oversee project progress and quality, conducting site visits and inspections as necessary.
  • Ensure adherence to company safety protocols and industry standards, fostering a safe working environment.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain precise project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, change orders, and daily reports.
  • Assist in generating project status reports and financial forecasts for internal and client review.

Problem Resolution & Troubleshooting:

  • Identify potential challenges and devise solutions to keep the project on schedule.
  • Assist the Project Manager in addressing any conflicts or obstacles that arise during construction.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline is preferred.

Experience:

  • 1-2 years of experience in mechanical construction, particularly with HVAC and plumbing piping systems.
  • Experience in a project engineer or assistant project manager capacity is preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong comprehension of mechanical systems, HVAC, and plumbing piping installation.
  • Proficient in project management software and tools (e.g., Procore, MS Project, AutoCAD).
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
