About the Role

Columbia Legal Services is seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Program Support Department, you will work closely with our People and Culture Director, IT Manager, Operations Manager, and Equity and Antiracism Strategist to contribute to organizational operations and facilitate interdepartmental communication and coordination.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and offboarding process for staff, interns, and volunteers.
  • Lead the annual Open Enrollment process and manage general benefits administration in collaboration with the Operations Manager and the People & Culture Director.
  • Support the People & Culture Director in the development of new systems and maintenance of on-going systems that foster a positive collaborative work environment.
  • Support the review of and updates to CLS personnel, administrative, operational, and other internal policies, ensuring compliance with relevant labor laws.
  • Provide direct administrative and special project support to the People & Culture Director, including efforts relating to the Joint Labor Management Committee and Union bargaining.
Requirements
  • A minimum of two years of demonstrated proficiency working in human resources and a strong working knowledge of the life cycle of personnel management.
  • Excellent judgment and the ability to solve problems, multi-task, and project manage different initiatives and ongoing projects simultaneously.
  • Commitment to racial, social, and economic justice.
  • Comfortable with technology and excellent working knowledge and application of the Microsoft Office 365 Suite and human resources software.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communications skills, and the ability to handle sensitive personnel issues with integrity and confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
  • HR certification or other education or training related to human resources, organizational development, and/or business management.
  • Experience working at a non-profit organization.
What We Offer
  • A competitive salary range of $76,000 to $83,500.
  • A comprehensive compensation package including 14 paid holidays annually, 12 sick days annually, 15-21 paid vacation days annually, and 3-5 personal days annually.
