Job Description:

Project Engineer

The Project Engineer will play a crucial role in the success of our projects at Western Partitions Inc. This position will assist the Project Manager in the setup, management, and closeout of projects to achieve project objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Planning and Execution: Assist in planning, scheduling, and executing project activities throughout each phase to completion.
  • Contract Review and Compliance: Review contract language, scope of work, and special provisions in the contract to ensure project team members are aware of these items.
  • Procurement and Logistics: Assist with the buyout and procurement of materials, subcontractors, and engineering quotes.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings, and support the implementation of job schedules.
  • Financial Management: Price change requests, update the budget promptly, prepare, review, and report weekly productions, and review the weekly job cost report with the project Foreman and team.
  • Closeout and Warranty: Coordinate warranties, O&M's, and closeout on projects.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Science, Construction Management, Business, Accounting, or related field.
  • Skills: Ability to diagnose and process key information, recognize critical areas on the job that could impact profitability, and actively navigate the project away from risks and liabilities for a successful outcome. Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook). Strong oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Experience: Experience with drywall, metal-stud framing, and ACT in the commercial market is preferred. Local to the office is also preferred.
