Role Summary:

As a Fire Alarm Project Manager within the Fire Protection sector, you will be responsible for the comprehensive management of fire alarm installation projects. This position requires effective coordination with clients, leadership of project teams, and collaboration with other coordinators and operations managers to ensure project success. Your contributions will be essential in maintaining operational efficiency and ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Planning & Coordination:
    • Craft detailed project plans encompassing scope, timelines, and resource allocation.
    • Review project specifications, drawings, and related documentation thoroughly.
    • Conduct site visits to assess field conditions and compile preliminary material lists.
    • Generate material orders based on approved project drawings.
    • Oversee installation processes, equipment, tools, and materials.
  2. Client Communication:
    • Introduce yourself to clients and general contractors as the Project Manager.
    • Maintain regular communication with engineers until drawings are finalized, ensuring accuracy.
    • Provide consistent updates regarding project status, milestones, and any challenges encountered.
    • Facilitate weekly safety meetings to discuss project safety protocols.
    • Address client inquiries and feedback promptly and professionally.
    • Offer technical support to field technicians.
    • Conduct system training for on-site management personnel.
  3. Scheduling:
    • Organize inspections, including rough, final, and acceptance testing.
    • Develop job schedules for installation, testing, and commissioning as required by contract.
  4. Documentation & Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, completion percentages, change orders, and progress reports.
    • Prepare and submit comprehensive project reports detailing financials, progress metrics, and outcomes.
  5. Compliance & Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure adherence to local, state, and national fire safety regulations.
    • Conduct site inspections and quality control assessments to confirm installations meet company standards.
    • Resolve any technical issues or discrepancies that arise during the project lifecycle.
    • Identify potential risks and formulate strategies to mitigate them.
    • Monitor project risks and ensure timely resolution of issues affecting project success.
  6. Additional Duties:
    • Travel to project sites as necessary.
    • Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or relevant certifications are advantageous.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in fire alarm systems management, with at least 2 years in a project management capacity preferred.
  • Required certifications: F-Card, NICET, OSHA-30, Lift, CPR, and Siemens (or equivalent) Programming Certifications.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and engineering software applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Reliable and adaptable, capable of working independently and collaboratively.

  • Valid driver's license and MVR.
  • Drug testing.
