Role Summary:
As a Low Voltage Project Manager within the Fire Protection sector, you will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of projects involving low voltage systems, such as fire alarms, communication networks, and security solutions. This position requires effective collaboration with clients, management of project teams, and interaction with other coordinators and operations managers to ensure seamless project execution that adheres to industry standards and client specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Planning & Coordination:
    • Develop comprehensive project plans outlining scope, timelines, and resource allocation.
    • Review project specifications, drawings, and all related documentation thoroughly.
    • Conduct site visits to assess field conditions and create preliminary material lists.
    • Generate material orders based on approved project designs.
    • Oversee installation processes, equipment, tools, and materials.
  2. Client Communication:
    • Introduce yourself to clients and general contractors as the Project Manager.
    • Maintain regular communication with engineers until project drawings are finalized and accurate.
    • Provide consistent updates regarding project status, milestones, and any emerging challenges.
    • Facilitate weekly safety meetings to promote a culture of safety.
    • Address client inquiries and feedback promptly and professionally.
    • Guide and support team members to ensure successful project delivery.
    • Conduct training sessions for on-site management personnel.
  3. Scheduling:
    • Organize inspections, including rough, final, and acceptance testing.
    • Create detailed job schedules for installation, testing, and commissioning as required.
  4. Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, completion percentages, change orders, and progress reports.
    • Prepare and submit comprehensive project reports covering financials, progress metrics, and outcomes.
  5. Compliance and Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure adherence to local, state, and national fire safety regulations.
    • Conduct site inspections and quality control checks to confirm installations meet standards.
    • Resolve any technical issues or discrepancies that arise during project execution.
    • Identify potential risks and formulate strategies to mitigate them.
    • Monitor project risks and ensure timely resolution of issues impacting success.
  6. Additional Duties:
    • Travel to project sites as necessary.
    • Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or relevant certifications are advantageous.
  • 5+ years of experience managing low voltage systems projects, with a minimum of 2 years in a project management capacity preferred.
  • Relevant certifications such as F-Card, NICET, OSHA-30, Lift, CPR, and Siemens (or equivalent) are required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and engineering software applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Capability to interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Dependable and adaptable, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
