Role Summary:

As a Fire Alarm Project Manager within the Fire Protection sector, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and successful completion of fire alarm installation projects. This position requires effective coordination with clients, management of project teams, and collaboration with other project coordinators and operations managers as necessary. Your contributions will be essential in ensuring that all projects adhere to industry standards, regulations, and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Planning & Coordination:
    • Develop comprehensive project plans detailing scope, timelines, and resource allocation.
    • Conduct thorough reviews of project specifications, drawings, and any relevant documentation.
    • Perform site assessments to confirm field conditions and compile preliminary material lists.
    • Generate material orders based on finalized drawings.
    • Oversee installation processes, including equipment, tools, and materials management.
  2. Client Communication:
    • Initiate contact with clients and/or general contractors to introduce yourself as the Project Manager.
    • Maintain regular communication with engineers until drawings are finalized, ensuring accuracy.
    • Provide consistent updates regarding project status, milestones, and any challenges encountered.
    • Lead weekly safety meetings to promote a culture of safety.
    • Address client inquiries and feedback promptly and professionally.
    • Offer technical support to field technicians.
    • Conduct system training for on-site management personnel.
  3. Scheduling:
    • Coordinate inspections, including rough, final, and acceptance testing.
    • Create detailed job schedules for installation, testing, and commissioning as per contractual obligations.
  4. Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, progress reports, and change orders.
    • Prepare and submit comprehensive project reports covering financials and progress metrics.
  5. Compliance and Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and national fire safety regulations.
    • Conduct site inspections and quality control assessments to ensure installations meet company standards.
    • Resolve any technical issues or discrepancies that arise during the project lifecycle.
    • Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
    • Monitor project risks and ensure timely resolution of issues impacting project success.
  6. Additional Duties:
    • Travel to project sites as required.
    • Perform other assigned tasks as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or relevant certifications are advantageous.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in fire alarm systems management, with at least 2 years in a project management capacity preferred.
  • Required certifications: F-Card, NICET, OSHA-30, Lift, CPR, and Siemens (or equivalent) Programming Certifications.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and engineering software applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Dependable and adaptable, capable of working independently and collaboratively.

  • Valid driver's license and MVR.
  • Drug testing.
