Position: Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA-C)

Employment Type: Full-Time Inpatient Role

Overview:

The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant, under the guidance of supervising Physicians, is tasked with:

  • Conducting comprehensive physical assessments and managing the care of radiology patients in both outpatient and inpatient environments.
  • Requesting necessary diagnostic examinations.
  • Tracking patient treatment progress and coordinating referrals to physicians or specialists as required.
  • Working collaboratively with physician supervisors and healthcare staff to ensure consistent patient care and support.
  • Exhibiting a compassionate and professional demeanor while fostering personal and professional development.
  • Establishing and nurturing effective working relationships with colleagues, patients, and the community.
  • Managing a diverse patient demographic, including both pediatric and adult populations.
  • Rotating between the Lumbar Puncture Clinic and the Interventional Radiology Clinic, with specific responsibilities in each:
    • Lumbar Puncture Clinic: Inpatient care at a designated facility.
    • Interventional Radiology Clinic: Pre-operative and post-operative care, with potential rounding responsibilities but no procedural tasks.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Location: AdventHealth Riverview

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with physicians, staff, and patients.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
  • Strong clinical decision-making capabilities.

Educational Background and Experience:

  • Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies or Nursing.
  • Experience in interventional radiology is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with lumbar punctures and spinal procedures.

Licensure and Certifications:

  • Valid Florida PA or APRN license.
  • Certification from NCCPA, ANCC, or another nationally recognized certifying body.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory.
