Position Overview

Role Summary:

The Physician Assistant (PA) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) will work under the guidance of a supervising physician, focusing on:

  • Conducting comprehensive physical assessments and managing conditions related to Head and Neck Surgery and Neurotology.
  • Assisting in surgical procedures, providing hospital rounds, and managing patient care in the clinic.
  • Performing procedures such as incision and drainage, suturing, and scope-related interventions.
  • Handling a variety of conditions, including thyroid and parathyroid disorders, head and neck malignancies, and vocal cord issues.
  • Executing hospital procedures, including nasal packing, endoscopy, and managing tracheostomy tubes.
  • Monitoring patient progress and coordinating referrals to specialists as necessary.
  • Collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure high-quality patient care and support.
  • Exhibiting professionalism and a commitment to personal and professional development.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Preferred experience as a surgical first assistant.
  • Experience in an ENT or surgical practice is advantageous, but training is available for suitable candidates.

Work Schedule:

  • Primary Location: AdventHealth Orlando.
  • Work Hours: Monday through Friday.
  • On-call duties, including hospital rounds and overnight coverage.
  • Participation in rotating holiday on-call schedule.

Educational Background:

  • Master's degree in Physician Assistant studies.
  • 1-2 years of experience in ENT preferred.

Licensure and Certifications:

  • Valid Florida PA license.
  • NCCPA certification (or equivalent).
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
  • RNFA certification for APRNs.
