Position Summary:
The Advanced Practice Provider is accountable for swift evaluation, clinical diagnosis, and collaboration with physician colleagues to ensure safe patient diagnostic assessments and optimal care strategies. This role encompasses caring for patients across all age groups, from infancy to geriatrics, while maintaining precise and up-to-date patient records and managing follow-up consultations as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial patient evaluations, including medical history, physical assessments, and preventive health measures in accordance with established guidelines.
- Complete all necessary documentation, including charting, summaries, and correspondence, to ensure accurate care records and billing.
- Order, interpret, and assess diagnostic tests to identify and evaluate patients' clinical issues and healthcare requirements.
- Document physical findings and develop treatment plans and prognoses based on patient evaluations.
- Review laboratory, imaging, and emergency reports on a daily basis.
- Engage with patients and their families to encourage adherence to care plans.
- Determine the necessity for follow-up appointments and additional treatment options.
- Refer patients to specialists when appropriate.
- Deliver high-quality care while adhering to all organizational metrics related to productivity.
- Act as a resource for patients seeking ongoing care information, counseling, and guidance for critical health conditions.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to create comprehensive patient care plans.
- Prescribe or recommend medications and other therapeutic interventions, such as physical therapy or inhalation therapy.
- Participate in operational initiatives aimed at enhancing business performance.
- Engage in special screenings, training, and community outreach activities as needed.
- Be available to accommodate walk-in patients as necessary to fill schedule gaps.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Fluency in Russian is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication abilities.
- Customer relations expertise.
- Proficient grammar and spelling.
- Ability to read and comprehend written instructions.
- Capability to follow verbal directions.
- Manual keyboarding skills.
- Visual computer skills.
Education and Experience:
- Master's Degree in Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner from an accredited postgraduate program.
- Five years of experience in a clinical or advanced practice environment is preferred, though exceptional new graduates may be considered.
Licensure and Certification:
- Active APN license in the applicable state.
- Registered Nurse Practitioner licensure and listing on the state Advanced Practice Nurse Registry.
- Board certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in relevant population foci and/or subspecialty.
- Registered Nurse license in the applicable state.
- BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association.
- Prescriptive Authority (RXN) or Provisional Prescriptive Authority (RXN-P) as applicable.
