Neonatal Advanced Practice Provider

Exciting Opportunity for a Neonatal Advanced Practice Provider in a reputable healthcare organization. We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic professional to join our team in a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The selected candidate will collaborate closely with neonatology specialists to provide exceptional care in a 12-bed NICU setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive care for neonatal and newborn patients, adhering to licensure regulations and the supervising physician's practice scope.
- Conduct patient evaluations, perform necessary procedures, formulate treatment strategies, and order as well as interpret laboratory tests, imaging, and other diagnostic assessments in accordance with specialty protocols and under the guidance of a Neonatologist.
- Engage in effective communication with parents, interdisciplinary specialists, and the NICU care team.
- Oversee the operation of specialized medical equipment, including incubators and ventilators.
- Provide education and emotional support to families regarding neonatal care, intensive care, and postpartum practices.
- Administer medications in accordance with collaborative agreements with supervising physicians.
- Execute diagnostic procedures and interventions, such as intubation and blood sampling.
- Ensure appropriate feeding and fundamental care for patients.
Work Schedule:
- 24-hour shifts (8am-8am).
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies with Neonatal Certification is required.
- 1-2 years of experience in a NICU setting as a Registered Nurse is highly preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience as a Neonatal Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Neonatal Physician Assistant is preferred but not mandatory.
Licensure and Certification Requirements:
- Possession of a valid APRN or PA License with Neonatal certification.
- Certification from ANCC or another nationally recognized certifying organization.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
