POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Finance Executive will serve as a strategic and influential member of the Finance department, reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Finance.

This role involves extensive collaboration with the leadership team of the business unit, overseeing critical functions such as budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, cash flow analysis, strategic planning, business modeling, and return on investment assessments, alongside other impactful financial evaluations.

This position is hands-on and requires a candidate who can effectively manage complex financial tasks while also engaging with the finer details on a daily basis.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as the financial partner for the business unit, driving growth initiatives.
  • Exhibit a strong capability in creating comprehensive financial models and analyses that reveal emerging trends, support informed decision-making, and enhance future visibility.
  • Lead the annual operating and capital budgeting and planning processes.
  • Oversee monthly forecasting, analysis, and reporting activities for the business unit.
  • Manage the monthly revenue cycle, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and control over essential revenue recognition processes.
  • Collaborate closely with the Accounting team to develop standardized accounting policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular operational analyses to pinpoint areas for improvement, reorganization, elimination, expansion, or additional investment.
  • Drive organizational change by providing strong, data-driven analytical leadership.
  • Oversee the creation and enhancement of reporting tools (dashboards, scorecards, etc.) and key performance indicators (KPIs) that provide insights into revenue and operating expense trends, track capital project expenditures, headcount, and highlight risks and opportunities.

SUPERVISORY DUTIES:
Directly supervises 1-2 full-time employees and/or contractors. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, assigning work, evaluating performance, and addressing employee concerns in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting
At least 10 years of relevant experience in progressively responsible finance roles within rapidly growing organizations
Equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATIONS:
No specific certifications required.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
Demonstrated success in hiring, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams.
Proficient in strategic and operational planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
Ability to analyze and synthesize large datasets to present clear observations and recommendations to leadership.
Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with strong influencing capabilities.
High ethical standards and a commitment to fostering a diverse and respectful workplace.
Strong proficiency in developing complex financial and analytical models, with experience in ERP systems, preferably Salesforce, NetSuite, and Hyperion PBCS.
Ability to engage with all organizational levels and a commitment to excellent internal and external customer service.
Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
Ability to pass a required background check.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
CPA, CMA certification, or MBA preferred.
Experience in the educational services or EdTech sector is advantageous.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position is remote and open to candidates across various locations. East Coast hours may be required.


COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

Stride, Inc. considers various factors such as education, experience, and qualifications when determining salary levels. The anticipated salary range is $140,000 to $239,000, with eligibility for bonuses. The final offer will depend on multiple factors, including geographic location and individual qualifications.

Stride offers a comprehensive benefits package for eligible employees, which may include health benefits, retirement contributions, and paid time off.
