Vice President of Live Event Production

Dick Clark Productions, a leading global entity in live televised event programming, is seeking a Vice President of Production. This pivotal role will oversee the production operations for high-profile events including: "The American Music Awards," "The Billboard Music Awards," "The Golden Globes," "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest," and "The Academy of Country Music Awards." The VP will engage in cross-functional collaboration and manage the physical production and budgeting for all original programming. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in the logistical aspects of live event television, including a strong background in budgeting and a diverse range of production experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the physical production and budgeting processes for all original programming.
  • Negotiate, supervise, and evaluate contracts and personnel.
  • Address challenges, mediate conflicts, and proactively manage production-related issues.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of product offerings, pitches, and relevant technology in programming.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • 5-7 years of leadership experience in television, film, content management, or development.
  • A minimum of 10 years in the Entertainment Industry.
  • Comprehensive understanding of live, documentary, scripted, and reality television.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with peers, subordinates, superiors, and key external contacts across various business units.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail, capable of producing high-quality work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects and adapting to changing priorities.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including nights and weekends, as required by business needs.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary for business purposes.
  • Proven understanding of the Dick Clark Productions brand.

Compensation for this role typically ranges from $170,000 to $210,000, plus bonuses. Salary determination may consider specific skills, years of experience, and comparisons to current employees in similar roles. It is common for candidates to be hired below the midpoint of the salary range. The total compensation package will also encompass additional elements, including a comprehensive suite of medical, financial, and other benefits, such as 401(k) eligibility and paid time off.
