Position Summary:
The Vice President of Production will spearhead the production operations for high-profile shows including:
"The American Music Awards," "The Billboard Music Awards," "The Golden Globes," "Dick Clark's New Years Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest," and "The Academy of Country Music Awards." This role will involve collaboration across various departments and will oversee the physical production and budgeting of all original programming. The ideal candidate will possess a wealth of experience in the logistical aspects of live event television, including comprehensive budgeting skills, alongside a diverse background in production.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the physical production and budgeting for all original programming.
2. Negotiate, supervise, and evaluate contracts and personnel.
3. Address challenges, mediate programming disputes, and proactively manage production-related issues.
4. Stay informed on product knowledge, pitches, and technological advancements related to programming.
Qualifications:
- 5-7 years in a leadership role within television, film, or content management and/or development.
- At least 10 years of experience in the Entertainment Industry.
- Profound understanding of live, documentary, scripted, and reality television.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with peers, subordinates, superiors, and key external freelancers, contacts, and vendors across all business units.
- Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Capable of producing high-quality work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; managing multiple projects simultaneously; and adapting to rapidly changing priorities to thrive in a competitive landscape.
- Flexibility to work varying hours, including nights and weekends as required.
- Willingness to travel as necessary for business.
- Demonstrated comprehension of the Dick Clark Productions brand.
Compensation:
The typical salary range for this position is $170k - $210k plus bonuses. Factors influencing your actual salary may include specific skills, years of experience, and comparisons to current employees in this role. Candidates are generally hired below the midpoint of the range. The total compensation package will also encompass a comprehensive suite of benefits, including medical, financial, and other perks such as 401(k) eligibility and paid time off.
