Position Summary

The Construction Site Supervisor plays a pivotal role in managing daily construction operations and overseeing all on-site personnel to ensure project completion aligns with established timelines and budgetary constraints. This position emphasizes maintaining superior quality standards, supervising all trades and field staff, and enforcing effective safety protocols throughout all site activities.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Oversees and coordinates all construction tasks.
  • Directs field staff to ensure project completion within specified timelines and budget, while adhering to quality standards and original designs.
  • Develops and maintains the construction schedule, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
  • Procures materials and arranges necessary inspections throughout the construction process.
  • Interprets and comprehends project plans and specifications.
  • Serves as a technical resource for the estimating team.
  • Guides the project team in the planning and execution of work plans and other submissions, adjusting as necessary to accommodate evolving project needs.
  • Fosters positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and team members.
  • Advocates for job site safety, promotes safe work practices, and addresses hazards immediately.
  • Ensures compliance with the company's safety policies by all employees and contractors.
  • Maintains an orderly and clean job site, including the construction office.
  • Collaborates with designated Quality Control and Health and Safety representatives to uphold Bristol and project standards.
  • Mitigates company exposure and project performance risks.
  • Supervises procurement processes for subcontractors and vendors, material acquisition, logistics coordination, and preparation of subcontract documentation as required.
  • Generates field reports, tracks quantities, processes payment applications, and prepares other necessary project documentation.
  • Conducts constructability reviews on project designs and collaborates with design teams to identify value engineering opportunities.
  • Works with others to create project schedules as needed.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with effective listening abilities.
  • Proficient in problem analysis and decision-making based on objectives, risks, implications, and costs.
  • Able to work effectively with diverse personalities and maintain strong interpersonal relationships.
  • Experience in managing relationships with federal clients.
  • Capable of handling multiple projects and tasks, prioritizing effectively, and performing well under pressure in a dynamic environment.
  • Adaptable to ongoing changes and flexible in work hours to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Excel and Word, with familiarity in commercial scheduling software such as MS Project or Primavera P6.
  • Commitment to performing tasks safely and responsibly.
  • Experience supervising all aspects of construction projects across various client types and delivery methods.
  • Knowledge of the estimating process.
  • Experience managing projects ranging from $1MM to $30MM.
  • Familiarity with applicable codes and standards.

Required Experience:

  • At least five (5) years of experience as a Construction Site Supervisor on airfield paving projects valued between $5-$10M, including paving and lighting.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; an Associate or Bachelor's Degree may be required based on project specifications.
  • Five years of recent experience in roles such as Project Superintendent, Construction Manager, Project Engineer/Scientist, or Quality Control for construction and/or remediation projects.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.

Preferred Experience:

· 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is preferred.

  • Visual Acuity: Must be sufficient to perform the above tasks safely and to engage in activities such as viewing a computer terminal and extensive reading.
  • Lifting: Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
  • Subject to both indoor and outdoor environmental conditions and a variety of physical conditions, including proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electric current, working at heights, and exposure to high heat or chemicals.
  • Atmospheric conditions: fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.
