Job Summary

McGough Construction is seeking an experienced Industrial Water/Wastewater Superintendent to lead our infrastructure projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning and overseeing all aspects of assigned projects, ensuring timely completion and meeting client expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage pre-construction activities, including developing crisis management plans, site logistics plans, and safety protocols.
  • Oversee McGough field staff, subcontractors, and suppliers, conducting daily huddles and ensuring job site coordination.
  • Implement and manage project schedules, working closely with the Project Management team to ensure updates and adjustments.
  • Collaborate with the Project Management team to select subcontractors, write RFIs, and procure materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Work with the Quality Control team to ensure project-specific requirements are met.
  • Ensure accurate documentation, including drawings, logs, and inspection books.
  • Manage project budgets, including labor, materials, and equipment, and address issues as they arise.
  • Lead project closeout tasks, including punch list execution, commissioning, final inspections, and owner training.
  • Drive a safe work environment, leading job safety meetings and orientations, and ensuring compliance with OSHA and other regulations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, design teams, and subcontractors.
  • Support and follow standard work processes.
  • Participate in Lean and continuous improvement initiatives.
Industrial Expertise
  • Supervise industrial installation activities, including pipe/duct/tank field installation, pressure vessels, towers, and tanks, heat exchangers, rotating and material handling equipment.
  • Develop and/or review scopes of work and scheduling documents for projects.
  • Oversee on-site execution of large-scale industrial projects or outages.
  • Track and monitor projects using available tools and resources.
  • Perform quality and completion inspections of work completed.
  • Assist in change order reviews and scope validation.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 5-8 years of water/wastewater construction-related experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and leadership skills.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, innovative, and forward-thinking.
  • Computer literate.
  • Demonstrated experience initiating and driving continuous improvement.
  • Current OSHA 30 certification.
  • History of working successfully alone or in a team dynamic.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two or four-year degree in a construction-related field.
  • 5-8 years of field-related experience.

Exposure to dirt, dust, and other materials is routine and may require the use of protective clothing and respirators. Jobs require an employee to frequently work on high structures such as ladders and scaffolds. Employee needs to be able to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
