Position Overview
The Lead Electrical Project Supervisor is tasked with the strategic planning and comprehensive oversight of all Electrical Contracting elements associated with assigned projects. This role encompasses the meticulous pre-planning required for every phase of the project lifecycle, from initial conception through to final completion. The Lead Electrical Project Supervisor collaborates closely with the Senior Project Supervisor, managing all field operations and supervising any additional superintendents dedicated to Electrical tasks, as well as overseeing subcontractors.
Essential Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is mandatory.
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in construction-related roles.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, coupled with strong leadership capabilities.
- A proactive attitude, robust work ethic, and a penchant for innovative thinking.
- Experience managing multiple Superintendents or Assistants on larger projects.
- Commitment to Human Development through mentoring Superintendents, Assistants, and Foremen via various training initiatives.
- Proven track record in initiating and promoting continuous improvement.
- Current OSHA 30 certification.
- Master Electrician certification or equivalent experience as a Senior Superintendent for Electrical Subcontractors or General Contractors.
- Advanced understanding of complex Electrical systems in sectors such as Healthcare, large Commercial projects, and Advanced Technology (FAB, Pharma, Data).
- Familiarity with Controls Systems is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two or four-year degree in a construction-related discipline or Master Electrician certification.
- Over 15 years of field-related experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all Pre-Construction activities, including crisis management planning, site logistics, and safety protocols.
- Manage and coordinate all field staff, subcontractors, and suppliers involved in assigned projects, including daily meetings and job site logistics.
- Develop, manage, and implement project schedules, ensuring close collaboration with the Project Management team for updates.
- Facilitate Superintendent meetings and assist in reallocating field labor as necessary.
- Collaborate with the Project Management team on subcontractor selection, procurement processes, and quality control measures.
- Ensure all on-site documentation is accurate and up-to-date, including drawings and inspection logs.
- Maintain budget alignment for labor, materials, and equipment, addressing any issues in collaboration with the Project Management team.
- Lead project closeout activities, including punchlist execution and final inspections.
- Promote a culture of safety through regular job safety meetings and compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with clients, design teams, and subcontractors.
- Support the implementation of Lean methodologies and continuous improvement initiatives.
Physical Requirements
This position necessitates the ability to perform duties outdoors under various weather conditions, with regular exposure to dust and other materials. Employees may need to work at heights, requiring the use of ladders and scaffolding, and must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally. The role involves frequent standing, walking, and manual dexterity.
