Job Summary:

We are seeking an Administrative Support Specialist to serve as the receptionist and switchboard operator for Regional Administrative Services. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be able to multitask, and maintain a professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Greet clients and visitors, answer general questions, and provide general information.
Direct callers to proper staff and notify staff of clients and visitors.
Answer and route calls, referring callers or visitors to services or resources as needed.
Perform administrative or support work for Regional Administrative Services, including typing correspondence, monitoring requests, and assigning work tasks.
Sort and prepare incoming and outgoing mail.

Requirements:

Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and office machines/equipment.
Skill in the use of standard agency computer hardware and software, including Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, staff, peers, management, and external contacts.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry 30 lbs.

Working Conditions:

This position works under moderate supervision with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a team environment and maintain a high level of productivity in a fast-paced office setting.
