About Liberty Hill Foundation

Liberty Hill Foundation is dedicated to driving social transformation, advocating for justice and equity by empowering grassroots initiatives in communities affected by systemic inequities. We are a vibrant team of committed advocates, focused on supporting community mobilization through our initiatives: grantmaking, training, and partnership development.

At Liberty Hill, we uphold our organizational principles of Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI). We celebrate the unique differences that each individual brings and promote collaboration as a vital aspect of our mission to achieve our overarching goal—fostering justice and equity by empowering communities most affected by systemic oppression.

The Position

As the Senior Grants Manager, you will be instrumental in researching and assessing grant opportunities and will serve as the primary grant writer for the organization. Your duties will encompass managing the complete lifecycle of grants, from initial identification to final reporting.

We are looking for a highly driven individual with extensive experience in drafting and submitting grant proposals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in navigating grant processes and a proven ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams to ensure the submission of compelling proposals.

If you are dedicated to fostering positive change through impactful grantmaking, we encourage you to consider this opportunity at Liberty Hill Foundation.

  • Partner with the Advancement team and program staff to identify strategic funding opportunities that align with the organization’s objectives.
  • Assist in cultivating and maintaining relationships with foundation and government funders to enhance partnerships and discover new funding avenues.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with the Director of Foundation and Government Grants to ensure grantmaking activities align with programmatic goals and objectives.
  • Facilitate regular communication and information sharing between program staff and funders to ensure alignment and responsiveness to funder expectations.

Grant Strategy and Evaluation:

  • Contribute to both short- and long-term strategic planning efforts to establish and monitor fundraising goals related to foundation and government grants.
  • Support the development of grantmaking strategies and priorities in partnership with senior leadership and program staff, ensuring alignment with the organization’s mission.
  • Stay informed about emerging trends, best practices, and innovations in foundation and government grantmaking to guide the organization’s grant strategy.

Qualifications

  • Education: BS/BA Degree or equivalent personal or professional experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in securing and managing foundation and government grants, including grant writing, budgeting, and reporting.
  • 3+ years of grant writing experience in nonprofit settings managing significant grants. Experience with federal government grants is advantageous.
  • Proven success in securing and managing grants from foundation and government sources.
  • Familiarity with the funding landscape in Los Angeles County is preferred.

Skills:
