Role Responsibilities

Charity Search Group is in search of an experienced Lead Grants Administrator to oversee Foundation and Government grants. This essential position will report directly to the Vice President of Advancement and will be responsible for leading initiatives to secure and manage grants from a variety of external sources.

As the Lead Grants Administrator, you will be instrumental in identifying and assessing grant opportunities, serving as the primary author for grant proposals. Your role will encompass the comprehensive management of the grant lifecycle, from initial identification to final reporting.

We seek a highly driven individual with extensive experience in grant proposal preparation and submission. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in navigating grant processes and a proven ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams to ensure the submission of compelling proposals.

Key Responsibilities

Proposal Development and Management:

  • Oversee the drafting, budgeting, and submission of grant proposals, collaborating closely with program and finance teams.
  • Design and manage the entire grant lifecycle to ensure all necessary documentation is organized, deadlines are met, and compliance is maintained.
  • Maintain detailed grant calendars to track submission deadlines and ensure timely delivery of proposals and reports.
  • Work with program staff and external partners to gather essential information for grant applications and reporting requirements.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Collaborate with the Advancement team and program staff to identify strategic funding opportunities that align with organizational goals.
  • Assist in building and maintaining relationships with foundation and government funders to enhance partnerships and discover new funding avenues.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with the Director of Foundation and Government Grants to align grantmaking efforts with programmatic objectives, ensuring coherence in submissions.
  • Facilitate ongoing communication and information sharing between program staff and funders to ensure alignment and responsiveness to expectations.

Grant Strategy and Assessment:

  • Contribute to both short- and long-term strategic planning to establish and monitor fundraising goals related to foundation and government grants.
  • Support the development of grantmaking strategies in collaboration with senior leadership and program staff, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission.
  • Stay informed about emerging trends and best practices in foundation and government grantmaking to guide the organization's strategy development.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Education: BS/BA Degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in securing and managing foundation and government grants, including grant writing and reporting.
  • 3+ years of grant writing experience in nonprofit environments managing significant grants. Experience with federal grants is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated success in securing and managing grants from various sources.
  • Familiarity with the funding landscape in the relevant region is preferred.
