In this pivotal role as a Senior Grants Accountant, you will collaborate closely with the Senior Director of Accounting to manage the financial aspects of a diverse portfolio of grants and contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the fiscal and administrative operations of various contracts and grants, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards.
  • Reconcile general ledgers for programs and grants, preparing necessary adjustments to facilitate accurate month-end closing.
  • Maintain adherence to grant and contract agreements while enhancing controls and processes.
  • Prepare and submit billing and drawdown schedules in accordance with contractual agreements.
  • Generate fiscal reports, including Federal Financial Reports and quarterly updates for federal grants.
  • Manage Time and Effort reporting, ensuring accurate salary distribution adjustments.
  • Collaborate with the Grants Team and Program Directors on budget planning and grant proposals.
  • Support audits and site visits by preparing necessary documentation and schedules.
  • Contribute to the Grants Protocol Team to refine accounting processes and systems.
  • Conduct fiscal audits of subcontractors to ensure compliance with grant requirements.
  • Facilitate training sessions on fiscal grant reporting and compliance.

Salary Range:
$68,000 - $141,000 Annually

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience in fund or not-for-profit accounting, with a proven track record in managing government-funded programs.
  • A minimum of 5 years in a progressively responsible accounting role, preferably in healthcare.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, including Pivot Tables and V-Lookups.
  • Familiarity with accounting software such as Sage Intacct or Oracle.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent communication skills for conveying complex financial information.
  • MBA and/or CPA preferred.
