Los Angeles, California, United States Advancecaregivers Full time

The Center for Caregiver Advancement (CCA) is dedicated to enhancing the workforce of proficient caregivers that many Californians rely on.

For over 20 years, CCA has championed an equity-focused movement aimed at delivering quality training and employment opportunities. As one of California's largest training providers for long-term caregivers, CCA has successfully trained over 35,000 home care and nursing home caregivers. We are trailblazers in home care education and uniquely demonstrate the impact of evidence-based training programs on both the workforce and the low-income seniors and individuals with disabilities they serve, with our curriculum being recognized in four additional states.

Training is a vital component of the extensive and intricate long-term care system. Our extensive experience in the field, along with research on our impact, indicates that effective training enhances retention rates and improves care quality, as caregivers gain the knowledge and confidence necessary for success in their roles. Given that the majority of caregivers are immigrant women of color from under-resourced communities, we ensure accessibility by offering training in six languages.

CCA designs high-quality training programs for both In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) home care workers and Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) staff. We maintain a robust partnership with SEIU Local, the labor union representing IHSS and SNF workers throughout California. Our Labor Management Training Partnership for nursing home employees is founded on collaborative systems where skilled nursing facility employers work alongside SEIU Local 2015 to enhance workforce quality and deliver superior care to residents through comprehensive courses, certifications, and apprenticeship programs.
