The Center for Caregiver Advancement (CCA) is dedicated to enhancing the workforce of skilled caregivers that many Californians rely on.
With over 20 years of experience, CCA has been a leader in promoting equitable access to quality training and employment opportunities. As one of California's largest training providers for long-term caregivers, we have successfully trained over 35,000 home care and nursing home professionals. Our innovative training programs are recognized nationally, showcasing the effectiveness of evidence-based training on both caregivers and the vulnerable populations they serve.
Training is a crucial component of the extensive long-term care system. Our extensive experience and research indicate that effective training leads to improved retention rates and higher quality care, empowering caregivers with the knowledge and confidence necessary for success. Recognizing that most caregivers are immigrant women of color from under-resourced communities, we offer training in six different languages to meet their needs.
CCA designs comprehensive training programs for both In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) workers and Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) staff. We maintain a strong partnership with SEIU Local, the labor union representing IHSS and SNF workers throughout California. Our collaborative Labor Management Training Partnership focuses on enhancing workforce quality and care standards through superior training courses, certifications, and apprenticeship opportunities.
Position Overview:The Director of Fund Development will spearhead CCA's fundraising initiatives, primarily focusing on identifying grant opportunities, crafting responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and nurturing relationships with foundations. This position reports directly to the Senior Director of External Affairs. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in grant writing, relationship management with donors, and a comprehensive understanding of the non-profit funding landscape.
Key Responsibilities:- Grant Opportunities: Research and identify potential funding sources from local, state, corporate, national foundations, and federal agencies.
- Proposal Development: Create, review, and submit persuasive and high-quality RFP responses. Collaborate with senior leadership, program staff, and finance teams to gather relevant data to support proposal narratives, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission and strategic objectives.
- Foundation Relationships: Map potential funding sources and cultivate relationships with current and prospective foundation partners. Conduct outreach, including meetings and presentations, and manage all aspects of foundation communications.
- Reporting and Compliance: Ensure adherence to all grant requirements and reporting timelines. Maintain a comprehensive grants calendar to track proposals and reports, preparing interim and final reports for funders.
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the Chief Executive Officer and Board of Directors to develop and implement fundraising strategies that support long-term organizational sustainability.
- Stay informed on trends in the non-profit funding landscape and adjust strategies to optimize funding opportunities.
- Provide regular updates to the Senior Leadership Team regarding grant development activities and outcomes.
- At least 7 years of experience in non-profit development, with a strong emphasis on grant writing and foundation relations.
- Proven success in securing substantial grants from foundations and government sources.
- Experience in Business Development with Managed Care Organizations is advantageous.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading capabilities.
- Strong research skills to identify new funding opportunities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building and maintaining relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adept at managing multiple projects and deadlines.
- Proficiency in fundraising databases and grant management software.
- Commitment to the mission and values of CCA.
$100,000-$130,000 annually
Status:Salary Exempt
Work Location:Hybrid in Los Angeles, CA
