Currently, over 18,000 patients, residents, and visitors rely on our healthcare teams for both outpatient and inpatient services.

Position Summary:
Responsible for preparing menu items for breakfast, lunch, or dinner based on assigned shifts, including salad bar, catering, or special meals for new parents.

Key Responsibilities:
Maintain daily logs for refrigerator/freezer temperatures and menu temperature records for each meal.
Review communication boards, catering updates, and emails for any changes.
Access and verify the list of hospital patients with dietary orders from the computer system, noting the number of patients and checking unit diet cards for any modifications.
Utilize spreadsheets for diet and portion control specifications.
Perform dishwashing and sanitizing tasks as required.

Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, including refrigerators, freezers, ovens, steamers, mixers, can openers, ranges, salamanders, hood panels, steam kettles, plate warmers, and steam tables, as well as shelving, floors, walls, fixtures, and ceilings.

Assist fellow staff with the assembly and delivery of patient/resident meal trays.
Support colleagues in providing timely meal service to residents, adhering to the meal schedule.
Ensure compliance with County and State Health Department regulations regarding food handling, personal hygiene, and attire.
Assist with cleaning and clearing dining room tables after meals as needed.
Provide on-the-job training and orientation to new dietary aide staff when requested.
Participate in departmental Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities as needed.
Attend a minimum of 75% of departmental in-service/staff meetings and complete all mandatory training as assigned.
Follow manufacturer instructions for preparing cleaning and sanitizing solutions, or as directed by the Director.

Qualifications:
Ability to read, write, and communicate fluently in English.

Proficient in fractional and non-metric math computations at a high school level. Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.


Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Vocational training in food service or three (3) years of experience in food service, preferably in an institutional setting.
