Position Summary

The Clinical Nutrition Specialist plays a vital role in overseeing the food and nutrition services within the healthcare facility. This position involves the planning, organization, and management of departmental activities in accordance with established guidelines. Responsibilities include performing clinical duties across various units, ensuring the accuracy of nutrition orders, and monitoring patient food preferences, allergies, and intolerances.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct nutrition assessments and provide Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of patient interactions and document outcomes of nutritional interventions.
  • Collaborate with diet aides to communicate essential dietary information effectively.
  • Make informed recommendations regarding parenteral and enteral nutrition as necessary.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Dietetics, with credentials as a Registered Dietitian from the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
  • At least one year of clinical experience in an acute care environment is preferred. Bilingual candidates, particularly in English and Chinese, are encouraged to apply.
  • A BCLS certification must be obtained within the first 60 days of employment.
