Position Overview

ROLE SUMMARY

We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Social Media & Marketing Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Director of Publications, this role will be instrumental in developing and executing the organization's social media content strategy aimed at promoting ACF programs and anti-racist principles while engaging with artists and music enthusiasts. The Manager will be well-versed in marketing techniques and will collaborate with the entire ACF team to effectively promote programs across social media, websites, printed materials, and newsletters. Regular participation in social media strategy meetings and close collaboration with the Executive Director to implement ACF's branding strategy will be key components of this role. Additionally, this position will play a vital role in generating revenue through advertising sales and will serve as the primary liaison for advertising clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Social Media Management
  • Develop and curate engaging content for ACF, I CARE IF YOU LISTEN, and innova Recordings across all relevant platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter).
  • Oversee social media calendars, schedule posts, and analyze engagement metrics.
  • Collaborate with ACF staff to promote funding and mentorship initiatives, articles, album releases, events, and special campaigns.
  • Create compelling copy for social media, websites, and newsletters that reflects ACF's mission and commitment to anti-racism.
  • Design visual content for regular posts and specific campaigns (e.g., major announcements, fundraising efforts, program recruitment).
  • Utilize social media analytics to identify trends and refine content strategies.
  • Stay informed about the latest trends and best practices in social media.
  • Represent ACF at relevant industry events and conferences as needed.
Marketing and Advertising
  • Manage and promote advertising opportunities on ICIYL and ACF (website ads, newsletter ads, sponsored emails).
  • Proactively seek advertisements from new and existing clients, including pitching comprehensive ad packages.
  • Work with clients to create tailored advertising solutions that meet their needs.
  • Handle the collection of assets, placement of advertisements, invoicing, and ensuring timely payments.
  • Maintain the ACF events calendar, including generating copy, creating visual assets, and updating event information.
  • Collaborate with external PR and marketing consultants on special campaigns for innova recordings and ACF projects.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of two years of experience in social media management, marketing, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing effective social media and marketing campaigns.
  • Proficiency in social media management tools (e.g., Buffer, Meta Business Suite, LinkTree).
  • Strong understanding of social media analytics and reporting tools.
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills.
  • Highly organized with a keen attention to detail in public-facing materials.
  • A passion for the arts and a commitment to anti-racism.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Experience with graphic design software is a plus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

As a national organization, we embrace a hybrid working model that allows for flexibility. We value the artistic pursuits and personal commitments of our staff, accommodating various time zones and offering flexible work hours.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This is a part-time, non-exempt position with an hourly rate of $27 for approximately 20 hours per week, plus a home office stipend. The position includes ten (10) paid vacation days: five (5) during ACF's summer closure and five (5) during the winter holiday closure. This role does not include health insurance or other employee benefits.

This position is primarily remote, with occasional in-person requirements. The role involves using standard office equipment and may require standing, walking, sitting, and using hands for various tasks. Accommodations may be available for those who need them.
