Position Summary:

The Regional Nursing Resource Coordinator at FutureCare is a pivotal role that combines leadership with a commitment to delivering exceptional care for our residents. Reporting directly to the VP of Clinical Services, this position collaborates with the nursing team to uphold clinical care standards and devise strategies for evaluating the effectiveness of specialized nursing practices aimed at enhancing patient outcomes.

Incentive:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Travel frequently to various facilities to oversee daily nursing operations, ensuring quality service in compliance with FutureCare's policies and relevant regulations.
  • Prepare and submit staffing plans to the VP of Clinical Services for evaluation and approval.
  • Coordinate nursing duties based on resident care requirements, available personnel, and unit needs.
  • Establish and enforce nursing infection prevention and control policies and procedures.
  • Encourage inter-professional collaboration in the delivery of care for residents.
  • Conduct daily rounds to assess care provided and supervise nursing staff.
  • Participate in weekly interdisciplinary meetings, contributing to the residents' care plans.
  • Engage in the annual budgeting process by identifying staffing and equipment needs for the upcoming fiscal year.
  • Adhere to FutureCare's code of ethics and compliance standards.
  • Assist in the recruitment process for open nursing positions.
  • Provide guidance to nursing staff regarding performance and attendance issues.
  • Support the orientation of new nursing staff and monitor their performance for improvement opportunities.
  • Identify and address unsafe or incorrect nursing practices, implementing corrective measures as necessary.
  • Review unit incidents and initiate investigations for any questionable matters.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of information recorded in residents' medical records.
  • Serve as a role model within the nursing unit, demonstrating clinical expertise in resident care.
  • Continuously enhance clinical knowledge and skills to remain current with best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Maryland is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution or a related field is strongly preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in an acute or long-term care setting is essential.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and supervisory experience are required.
  • Current CPR certification is mandatory.
