About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Relationship Banker to join our team at M&T Bank. As a key member of our commercial banking team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with our business customers, identifying new sales opportunities, and providing proactive sales solutions to meet their evolving needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Maintain Customer Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with our business customers, understanding their financial needs and providing tailored solutions to meet their goals.
  • Identify and Pursue Sales Opportunities: Proactively identify new sales opportunities and develop strategies to pursue and close deals.
  • Provide Proactive Sales Solutions: Offer proactive sales solutions to customers, leveraging your knowledge of our products and services to meet their evolving needs.
  • Stay Current on Market Trends and Developments: Stay up-to-date on market trends and developments, ensuring you have the knowledge and expertise to provide valuable insights to our customers.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and product development, to ensure seamless execution of sales strategies and customer solutions.
  • Meet and Exceed Sales Goals: Meet and exceed sales goals, consistently delivering high-quality results and driving business growth.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with a minimum of 3 years of proven retail sales, call center, customer service, and/or telesales experience.
  • Strong Verbal Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • Proven Ability to Demonstrate Exceptional Customer Service: A proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service, with a focus on meeting and exceeding customer needs and expectations.
  • Well-Organized Individual with Time Management and Prioritization Skills: A well-organized individual with strong time management and prioritization skills, able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated Financial Services Product Knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge of financial services products and services, with the ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to Communicate with Tact and Diplomacy: The ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy, both internally and externally, with a focus on building strong relationships and resolving conflicts.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associates Degree: An associates degree or higher is preferred, with a focus on business, finance, or a related field.
  • Notary Public License: A notary public license is preferred, with the ability to notarize documents and provide additional services to customers.
  • Minimum of 3 Years Financial Services Sales Experience: A minimum of 3 years of financial services sales experience is preferred, with a focus on commercial banking and business development.
  • Bilingual: Bilingual skills are preferred, with the ability to communicate with customers in multiple languages.
