Key Responsibilities

In the role of Systems Engineer, you will be tasked with the design, implementation, and upkeep of our IT systems to guarantee peak performance, security, and dependability. You will collaborate with various teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality SaaS solutions to our clientele. The ideal candidate should possess a proactive approach to problem-solving and a robust background in systems engineering, cloud services, and automation.

Core Duties Include:

  • Architecting, deploying, and overseeing a scalable, secure, and dependable network and systems infrastructure for our SaaS offerings.
  • Creating and maintaining automation scripts for cloud resource management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Azure Resource Manager (ARM), or Ansible.
  • Working alongside Development and DevOps teams to enhance application deployment and performance, integrating IaC methodologies into the CI/CD pipeline.
  • Managing a variety of SaaS applications, including Google Workspace, O365, and Jira/Confluence/Bitbucket.
  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining operating systems, applications, and hardware components.
  • Conducting regular system audits, backups, and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Implementing and overseeing network security protocols, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
  • Providing engineering insights and recommendations for new IT systems to ensure compliance with technology standards and policies.
  • Maintaining an inventory of hardware and software resources.
  • Documenting technical procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting protocols for networks, systems, and devices.
  • Addressing support inquiries through various channels, including ticketing systems and direct communication.
  • Managing projects and ensuring deliverables are met within established timelines.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned based on organizational needs without altering the overall nature and scope of the role.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in systems engineering, ideally within a SaaS or technology-centric environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting both Windows and UNIX/Linux systems.
  • Strong background in administering and optimizing application stacks (e.g., IIS, NGINX).
  • Extensive experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, GCP, AWS).
  • Familiarity with virtualization and containerization technologies (e.g., VMware, Virtual Box).
  • Experience with monitoring and analytics tools (e.g., Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana).
  • Proficiency in automation and infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
  • Strong scripting capabilities (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python).
  • Comprehensive networking knowledge (OSI model, TCP/IP, VPN).
  • Understanding of security scanning tools (e.g., Snyk, Tenable).
