Position Overview

Role Objective

We are in search of an Infrastructure Automation Specialist who is dedicated to the principles of DevOps, champions infrastructure as code, and supports continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD). In this role, you will oversee the effective deployment and operational management of revenue-generating big data solutions, concentrating on minimizing manual tasks through automation.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Assess, automate, and enhance operational processes by constructing infrastructure through code and refining pipelines, monitoring, and incident management protocols, adhering to industry best practices.
  • Automate, integrate, deploy, or release solutions utilizing various tools, scripting, or coding as necessary.
  • Commit to continuous improvement by evaluating new methodologies, industry standards, and tools, providing recommendations for enhancements.
  • Uphold established service level agreements (SLAs), service level indicators (SLIs), and service level objectives (SLOs), while monitoring systems to assess lead times for changes, change failure rates, deployment frequencies, mean time to recovery, and overall availability, aiming for operational excellence and enhanced customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with development teams, engaging in design discussions and assisting in optimizing system performance and environment scaling.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in problem management, including issue definition, brainstorming, and collaborative resolution determination.
Qualifications

Essential Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a DevOps role.
  • 2 years or equivalent experience in supporting high-availability systems.
  • 2 years of experience with cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • 1 year of experience working within Agile teams and CI/CD environments.
  • Proficiency in Bash, Python, or similar scripting languages.
  • Experience with Linux and familiarity with Windows environments.
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with orchestration tools like Jenkins and Airflow.
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git, Bitbucket, or GitHub.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.

Interpersonal Skills

  • Ability to collaborate across various organizational levels to identify and resolve issues.
  • Strong documentation skills.
  • Willingness to learn emerging technologies and apply innovative solutions to challenges.
  • Experience with a wide range of open-source technologies.
  • Understanding of object-oriented programming languages.
  • Ability to script and perform code refactoring.
  • Experience managing frequent, incremental code testing and deployment following CI/CD principles.
  • Ability to automate processes using best practices and automation tools.
  • Experience managing big data and scalable data solutions.
Additional Information

The anticipated salary range for this position is $68,000-$114,000. Actual salary will be determined based on various factors including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other permissible factors. A comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, and paid time off is also available.

This position is remote.
