Role Summary

To fulfill our goal of serving a significant number of Fellows in the coming years, Braven is seeking an IT Systems Engineer. This position is pivotal in architecting, executing, and sustaining the organization’s IT framework. As part of the IT team, you will spearhead the enhancement of our IT systems, delivering reliable and scalable solutions that boost operational effectiveness. Your proactive mindset will facilitate the smooth integration of emerging technologies, directly impacting system dependability and organizational advancement.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Oversight - 35%

  • Design, execute, and uphold IT infrastructure (e.g., administration of SaaS applications, physical networks).
  • Oversee and resolve performance issues related to systems and SaaS applications across the organization.
  • Streamline processes through automation initiatives.

Security and Compliance - 25%

  • Implement security measures through access controls and data backups to protect organizational assets.
  • Assist in developing disaster recovery strategies in collaboration with IT leadership.

Project Management - 20%

  • Lead IT initiatives, including office expansions and technology deployments to support organizational growth.
  • Engage with software vendors to introduce new functionalities that enhance workflow efficiencies.

User Support and Training - 20%

  • Deliver technical assistance to end users via the ticketing system.
  • Create and maintain documentation and user manuals for systems.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • A minimum of 4 years in IT, with at least 2 years in systems engineering or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in network design and systems administration.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expertise in managing network devices.
  • Experience with cloud service platforms.
  • Familiarity with mobile device management and single sign-on solutions.
  • Proven track record in IT project management.
  • Knowledge of scripting and automation tools.
  • Experience in designing and supporting AV technologies for meeting spaces.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Relevant certifications are advantageous.
