Position Overview
The Engineering Procurement Specialist plays a crucial role in managing the acquisition of materials, equipment, and services essential for engineering and maintenance operations. This position ensures the timely procurement of high-quality supplies at competitive prices while adhering to company policies and industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities
1. **Procurement Management**
- Identify and source suitable vendors for required materials and services.
- Prepare and process purchase orders, ensuring compliance with company policies.

2. **Spares Management**
- Ensure timely availability of spares for preventive and breakdown maintenance.
- Identify critical production and safety spares and maintain stock based on criticality assessments.

3. **Inventory Control**
- Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages and overstock situations.
- Coordinate with warehouse teams for proper storage and distribution of procured items.

4. **Vendor Management**
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and evaluate new vendors.
- Conduct performance reviews of suppliers and address any quality or delivery issues.

5. **Budget and Cost Management**
- Assist in preparing the procurement budget and ensure adherence to budget constraints.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement initiatives to reduce expenses.

6. **Documentation and Reporting**
- Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including purchase orders and contracts.
- Prepare regular reports on procurement metrics and supplier performance.

7. **Compliance and Quality Assurance**
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and quality standards.
- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to resolve quality-related issues.

Qualifications
Must possess a high school diploma or GED, with a preference for a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A minimum of three years of experience in supply chain or procurement is required, along with familiarity with SAP systems.

Skills and Competencies
Strong ethical standards, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools are essential. Candidates should demonstrate analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and a customer service-oriented mindset.

Physical Requirements
Able to lift up to 15 pounds and perform various physical tasks as needed. Willingness to work flexible hours and travel as required.
