Key Responsibilities:
PRIMARY ROLE:
Design and define cutting-edge electrical, mechanical, and automated systems. Enhance manufacturing support and maintenance initiatives through effective training and technical guidance. Formulate process specifications, machine parameters, and strategies for minimizing waste and maximizing operational efficiency. Lead capital projects from initial strategic planning through procurement, installation, testing, and transition to operational teams. Analyze industry-leading facilities and adopt world-class methodologies, equipment, and workflows.
CORE FUNCTIONS:
Develop control systems for machine tools, encompassing electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
Select capital machinery for manufacturing operations.
Optimize existing machine tools to boost uptime, enhance quality, and elevate productivity.
Provide engineering assistance for production machinery and processes, including maintenance advisory.
Create programs aimed at cost reduction to meet overall plant objectives.
Recommend enhancements to preventative maintenance strategies.
Collaborate with suppliers and internal engineering teams for ongoing improvement initiatives.
Authorize modifications to machine tool programming.
Educate staff on new technologies and manufacturing methodologies.
Adhere to and uphold Quality Management System and Environmental Management System standards.
Participate in team initiatives and lead team activities.
Monitor and report on cost savings.
PFMEAs:
Understand the application of PFMEAs within the organization; develop, maintain, and review PFMEAs as necessary.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution is required.
The position necessitates technical expertise in machine operations, processes, control systems, CNC, PLC, servo drives, stepper motor drives, and electrical/electronic systems.
Technical knowledge in mechanical design is also required.Proficient abilities in capital equipment justification, project scheduling, and managerial planning are essential. Strong interpersonal skills are crucial.
Mentor and develop maintenance staff.
Provide technical support to other facilities.
Candidates must demonstrate the ability to independently manage assigned project tasks.
Preferred experience in data-driven analysis and problem-solving techniques.
