Position Overview:
The Vice President of Regional Sales is tasked with steering regional sales teams to meet organizational objectives.

This role is pivotal in ensuring that sales teams are equipped with the essential resources, training, and support necessary for success in their designated responsibilities.

In this structure, the national sales force is segmented into regions, with regional leaders reporting to a national sales head. This position encompasses oversight of the Southern Atlantic, Central, Western, and Northeastern United States.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and sustain customer and trade-lane specific business strategies, while managing sales personnel to achieve or surpass weekly production targets for the region.
  • Lead sales management initiatives, ensuring that national sales performance standards are upheld by the sales team, particularly in delivering value and exceptional service to clients.
  • Oversee the qualification of new business prospects in alignment with organizational standards.
  • Foster and nurture customer relationships within the designated region.
  • Enhance performance through effective communication across various functions, which may involve preparing executive-level reports and summaries for senior management.
  • Facilitate the growth of the regional sales team through intentional succession planning, development strategies, and performance management.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, particularly concerning operational budgets.
  • Undertake additional related duties or projects as required.

Qualifications:
  • Proven track record of successful leadership, innovation, and achievement of goals in an accountable environment.
  • Exceptional negotiation, leadership, and creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with a capacity to collaborate effectively in team settings.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and present ideas and concepts effectively to diverse groups.
  • A change leader who communicates and collaborates efficiently.
  • Demonstrates strong competitive instincts.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 8 years of industry experience is required.
  • At least 3 years of management experience is essential.
  • Preferred: 5+ years of commercial carrier outside sales experience.
