The Vice President of Regional Sales will formulate and implement the company's market entry strategy within their designated area, reporting directly to the Executive Vice President of Sales. This role entails the recruitment, training, and oversight of a team of Regional Sales Directors, as well as the development and execution of territory growth strategies. The Vice President will collaborate closely with the product team to provide insights on product and pricing to influence the company's future offerings and initiatives. This is a unique opportunity to establish yourself as a leader and build your team from the ground up.

This position is flexible in terms of location within Texas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish a regional sales office; assist in sourcing office space, assembling a team, and coordinating logistics.
  • Recruit, onboard, and mentor Regional Sales Directors and Sales Assistants.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with brokers to promote Optimyl's products, both personally and through the regional sales team.
  • Create a growth strategy that delivers distinct value to brokers and small businesses.
  • Provide insights to shape the company's product, pricing, technology, and marketing strategies.
  • Travel as necessary within the region to strengthen broker relationships.
  • Monitor shifts in the competitive landscape, including product/pricing adjustments and mergers & acquisitions.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of sales experience in similar products (level-funded, self-funded, stop-loss health plans).
  • Management experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience in recruiting, hiring, and training staff, as well as building teams and business units.
  • Ability to manage broker relationships while also engaging in personal sales, alongside team development and coaching.
  • Possesses valuable connections within the industry, whether with independent agents or potential future Regional Sales Directors.
  • Proactive and effective in influencing initiatives beyond direct responsibilities to enhance the company's success.
  • Self-driven – capable of working independently without constant supervision.
  • Demonstrated success in executing sales strategies and influencing behaviors through effective sales techniques.
