The Vice President of Regional Sales Operations is tasked with steering regional sales teams towards the achievement of organizational objectives. Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the South Atlantic, Central, Western, and Northeastern United States sales regions.
- Develop and sustain customer and trade-lane specific business strategies, while managing sales staff to meet or exceed regional production targets.
- Lead sales management initiatives, ensuring adherence to national sales performance standards, particularly in delivering exceptional value and service to clients.
- Evaluate new business opportunities in alignment with organizational standards and foster robust customer relationships within the assigned territories.
- Enhance performance through effective communication across various functions, including the preparation of executive-level reports for senior management.
- Facilitate the growth of the regional sales team through strategic succession planning and performance management.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies, particularly regarding operational budgets.
- Perform additional related duties or projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Proven track record of successful leadership, innovation, and goal attainment in a results-driven environment.
- Exceptional negotiation, leadership, and creative problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively in team settings.
- Capacity to plan, organize, and articulate ideas and concepts to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to lead change and communicate effectively.
- Strong competitive instincts and a drive for excellence.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree is required.
- A minimum of 8 years of industry experience is essential.
- At least 3 years of management experience is necessary.
- Preferred: 5+ years of experience in commercial carrier outside sales.
