Position Overview

NIGHT AUDITOR
DEPARTMENT: Front Office
REPORTS TO: Front Office Manager

Position Summary
The Night Auditor is responsible for conducting nightly audits and providing exceptional guest support during overnight hours.

Key Responsibilities
Qualified candidates should be prepared to fulfill the following essential duties, with additional tasks as assigned:

  1. Conduct nightly audits, meticulously reviewing transactions, documenting notes, and ensuring proper date closures for the hotel.
  2. Process credit card transactions and generate daily management and accounting reports, including Daily Revenue and Cash sheets.
  3. Adhere to all reporting schedules and checklists, such as opening and closing checklists, daily bucket checks, and room assignments.
  4. Gain proficiency in all aspects of Front Office operations, including various software systems.
  5. Deliver outstanding customer service, addressing guest inquiries and proactively fulfilling their needs during the night shift.
  6. Perform basic arithmetic functions accurately and manage cash transactions at the front desk.
  7. Conduct regular security checks of the premises to ensure the safety of guests and staff.
  8. Collaborate with the Night All Rounder to enhance the guest experience and assist with inquiries.

Supporting Functions
In addition to the core responsibilities, the candidate is expected to perform the following tasks:

  1. Respond to reservations, main hotel switchboard calls, and emails in a courteous manner, ensuring clear communication.
  2. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of hotel services, features, and operational hours.
  3. Execute various duties of Front Desk Agent, Reservations Agent, and Telephone Operator to ensure guest satisfaction.

To succeed in this role, candidates must demonstrate the following abilities:

  1. Effective verbal and written communication skills in English with guests and colleagues.
  2. Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  3. Excellent time management capabilities.
  4. Thorough knowledge of hotel services and features.
  5. Ability to comply with physical demands as outlined.
  6. Technological proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  7. Basic mathematical computation skills.
  8. Availability for night shifts and flexibility for weekends and holidays.

Education and Experience Requirements
A high school diploma is required. A minimum of 12 months of experience as a night auditor in a mid-sized hotel is preferred but not mandatory. Previous hotel experience is essential.

Cognitive Abilities
Candidates must possess the following cognitive skills:

  1. Understanding of guest service needs and requests.
  2. Ability to acknowledge and respond to guest inquiries politely.
  3. Logical thinking to follow written and oral instructions.
  4. Problem-solving skills related to guest and operational issues.
  5. Basic mathematical calculation abilities.
