Position Title: Night Auditor

Department: Front Office

Reports To: Front Office Manager

Position Summary
The Night Auditor is responsible for executing nightly audits and delivering guest assistance during overnight hours.

Key Responsibilities
Qualified candidates will be expected to fulfill the following duties. Additional responsibilities may be assigned:
  1. Conduct nightly audits, meticulously reviewing transactions, documenting notes, and ensuring the closure and transition of dates for the hotel.
  2. Process credit card transactions, compile and submit daily management and accounting reports along with supporting documents.
  3. Adhere to all reporting schedules and checklists, including opening and closing checklists, daily bucket checks, and room assignments.
  4. Achieve proficiency in all aspects of Front Office operations including various software systems.
  5. Deliver exceptional customer service, addressing guest inquiries and proactively fulfilling their needs during the night shift.
  6. Perform accurate arithmetic functions and manage guest charges using the property management system.
  7. Conduct regular security checks to ensure the safety of guests and staff.
  8. Collaborate with the Night All Rounder to enhance the guest experience and assist with inquiries.

Supporting Functions
In addition to the core responsibilities, the candidate is expected to:
  1. Respond to reservations, main hotel switchboard calls, and emails in a courteous manner, ensuring clear communication.
  2. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of hotel services and operational hours.
  3. Perform various duties of Front Desk agent and Reservations Agent to ensure guest satisfaction.

Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates must demonstrate the following abilities:
  1. Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
  2. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  3. Excellent time management capabilities.
  4. Comprehensive knowledge of hotel services and operational hours.
  5. Ability to comply with physical demands of the role.
  6. Technological proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  7. Basic mathematical calculation skills.
  8. Availability for night shifts and a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Education and Experience Requirements
A high school diploma is required. A minimum of 12 months experience as a night auditor in a mid-sized hotel is preferred, but not mandatory. Previous hotel experience is essential.

Cognitive Abilities
Candidates must possess the following cognitive skills:
  1. Understanding of guest service needs and requests.
  2. Ability to acknowledge and respond to guest inquiries politely.
  3. Logical thinking to follow written and oral instructions.
  4. Problem-solving skills related to guest and operational issues.
  5. Basic mathematical computation abilities.
