Position Overview

Delaware North Sportservice is seeking seasonal Hosts to enhance the guest experience at our Barrel Yard venue. As a Host, your primary role will be to warmly welcome patrons and efficiently manage the host station.

Compensation

$15.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities
  • Review the floor plan and reservation book daily; create a seating chart.
  • Prepare the host station according to established guidelines.
  • Welcome guests and seat them at tables or in waiting areas.
  • Assign seating based on the seating chart, server rotation, and guest preferences while providing menus.
  • Manage seating arrangements and wait times effectively.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host station; contribute to the overall cleanliness of dining and bar areas.
  • Inspect dining and service areas to ensure proper setup and cleanliness.
  • Address guest inquiries regarding service and provide assistance as needed.
  • Engage with guests to ensure satisfaction with food and service, address complaints, and thank guests upon departure.
  • Assist with bussing, clearing, and cleaning tables.
  • Support food runners as necessary.
  • Regularly check restrooms for cleanliness and restock supplies as needed.
  • Answer restaurant phone lines during operational hours.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a customer service role is preferred.
  • Detail-oriented and attentive.
  • Ability to maintain high energy levels in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
  • Capable of following procedures and instructions accurately.
  • Strong communication skills; able to interact effectively with guests and colleagues.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to remain on feet for the duration of the shift.
  • Ability to navigate between tables and around corners.
  • Frequent walking, bending, lifting, reaching, and stretching.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds.
  • Sufficient visual acuity and hearing ability to read the seating chart and communicate with guests.
