Position Overview

Delaware North Sportservice is seeking enthusiastic seasonal Hosts to enhance the guest experience at our Barrel Yard establishment. In this role, you will play a vital part in welcoming patrons and overseeing the host station.

Compensation

$15.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities
  • Review the daily floor plan and reservation details; develop a seating chart.
  • Prepare the host station according to established guidelines.
  • Welcome guests and guide them to their tables or waiting areas.
  • Seat guests based on the seating chart, server rotation, and guest preferences while providing menus.
  • Manage seating arrangements and wait times effectively.
  • Maintain cleanliness at the host station and contribute to the overall tidiness of dining and bar areas.
  • Inspect dining and service areas to ensure they meet cleanliness standards.
  • Address guest inquiries regarding service and provide assistance as needed.
  • Engage with guests to ensure satisfaction with their dining experience, address complaints, and express gratitude as they depart.
  • Assist with clearing and cleaning tables as necessary.
  • Support food runners as required.
  • Regularly check restrooms for cleanliness and restock supplies as needed.
  • Answer restaurant phone calls during operational hours.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a customer service role is preferred.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on attentiveness.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks.
  • Capable of following procedures and instructions accurately.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with guests and colleagues.
Physical Demands
  • Must be able to remain on feet for the duration of the shift.
  • Ability to navigate between tables and around obstacles.
  • Frequent walking, bending, lifting, reaching, and stretching are required.
  • Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 35 pounds.
  • Visual and auditory abilities must be sufficient to read seating charts and communicate with guests.
Shift Information

Available shifts include day, evening, holidays, and weekends.
