Patient Service Representative

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Service Representative to join our team at Advocate Health. As a Patient Service Representative, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide efficient and high-quality service to patients, answering their questions and addressing their concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Register patients in the EMR system, verifying essential billing and demographic information.
- Coordinate scheduling of patient appointments, ensuring accurate and efficient scheduling.
- Answer multiple incoming telephone lines, determining the appropriate recipient of the call or message and referring them promptly and appropriately.
- Resolve patient questions and concerns, including HMO referrals, billing, and queries about services and test results.
- Schedule future appointments and requisitions, laboratory tests, radiology procedures, and other special diagnostic tests as needed.
- Notify patient care areas when patients have arrived and are ready to be seen.
- Ensure that patients are seen in a timely manner or are promptly notified of unexpected delays.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One to two years of related customer service experience.
- Experience handling difficult callers/customers/patients.
- CRT/PC experience in a customer service setting.
- Working knowledge of eClinicalWorks and scheduling sections of the eClinicalWorks system preferred.
