Job Summary
The Patient Service Representative plays a vital role in ensuring a positive patient experience at Northwestern Medical Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, communicating effectively with patients and guests, and maintaining accurate patient information.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate with patients and guests, confirming identity and providing necessary information related to their visit.
- Complete check-in/out functions as directed, ensuring accurate and timely processing of patient information.
- Confirm and update patient identification and demographic/insurance information, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to regulatory standards.
- Collect co-payments, past due balances, and point of service payments, processing billing information and performing end-of-day cash drawer closing.
- Keep waiting areas clean and comfortable, ensuring a positive patient experience.
- Inform patients of any delays or changes in appointment status, providing clear and concise communication.
- Schedule appointments as necessary, utilizing effective time management skills.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Zero to two years of experience in a customer service position.
- Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree, previous experience in a healthcare setting, working knowledge of medical terminology, and bilingual skills.
