Position Summary:

As a Technical Service Specialist, you will play a vital role in delivering commissioning, operational support, and maintenance expertise for water treatment systems across diverse locations. This essential position requires proficiency in various technologies such as clarification, media filtration, softening, reverse osmosis (RO), ion exchange (IX), and ultrafiltration (UF). Success in this role hinges on your strong mechanical, process, and electrical knowledge, along with your adept problem-solving abilities. Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide commissioning, operational support, and maintenance expertise for water treatment systems in multiple locations.
  • Engage with a range of technologies including clarification, media filtration, softening, reverse osmosis, ion exchange, and ultrafiltration.
  • Oversee project installation, commissioning, and rehabilitation tasks.
  • Deliver technical guidance and inspections for rebuild projects and extended scope assignments.
  • Ensure installations adhere to Veolia's specifications.
  • Commission various equipment including mixers, valves, air compressors, process pumps, blowers, and instrumentation.
  • Assist clients with the installation of filter media.
  • Conduct thorough controls testing to confirm system functionality aligns with design specifications.
  • Support clients during initial plant operations and train client operators on system usage.
  • Collaborate with clients and Veolia to communicate schedules and address any issues.
  • Monitor, operate, and optimize equipment performance.
  • Supervise the installation and replacement of equipment as needed.
  • Maintain and calibrate chemical injection systems.
  • Perform troubleshooting across process, mechanical, electrical, and control systems for various equipment.
  • Document site activities and provide clients with detailed technical summaries of work completed.

Qualifications:
  • Strong mechanical, process, and electrical knowledge along with problem-solving skills.
  • High School Diploma / GED / Home School Certification or equivalent, plus 2+ years of experience in service or maintenance within an industrial setting.
  • Technical degree in Science/Engineering or relevant technical certification.
  • Experience in water/wastewater treatment.
  • Willingness to travel extensively.
  • Ability to secure and maintain access to assigned sites.
  • Valid driver's license.
