We are looking for a Technical Service Specialist to join our Automotive Refinish team in Southern California.

As a Technical Service Specialist in Southern California, you will be instrumental in providing customer support to automotive collision repair shop customers as well as distribution partners to grow our market share sustainably. In this role, you will be responsible for the technical success of BASF's automotive refinish products in the Southern California region. You will maintain high quality customer service standards at some of the largest Body Shop organizations in the market through process development, correct application of products through teaching and hands-on demonstrations, and helping the sales team convert new business.

  • Providing technical assistance and training to our customer base and prospects to maintain and gain market share in the Southern California market
  • Working with your BASF colleagues in the region to accomplish regional sales objectives by training on our products, demoing new product lines and assisting the team in any customer requests
  • Making process improvement recommendations within Body Shops
  • Helping end users and/or distribution partners be more proficient in product application, selling and implementing new products and generating a positive experience with BASF branded products
  • Working and staying up to date on any product developments and technology to elevate your professional experience through training and reaching out to marketing, training and internal team members while adding value to our customers
  • Communicating findings or any customer related activities to BASF colleagues using our internal CRM or communication channels
If you have...
  • An Associate's or Bachelor's degree (recommended) or High School Diploma (GED)
  • At least 5 years of experience of either training or working hands on with Automotive Coatings materials within the automotive market
  • The ability to collaborate for achievement while working within a sales team to accomplish goals by training on our products, demoing new product lines and assisting Account Representatives and Business Development Managers
  • A strong understanding of body shop workflow enabling you to make process improvement recommendations that can be highly valuable to end users
  • The ability to communicate effectively which will help end users and/or distribution partners be more proficient in product application, selling and implementing new products and generating a positive experience with BASF branded products
