Heavy Civil Construction Foreman

Job Overview:
The Heavy Civil Construction Foreman plays a crucial role in the successful execution of construction projects by effectively planning, organizing, and managing various tasks. This position is responsible for ensuring quality inspections, overseeing subcontractors, and leading the project team to achieve timely completion of work.
The Foreman will report directly to the Project Manager and will be responsible for supervising the crew to ensure adherence to safety protocols and project timelines.
Key Responsibilities:- Establish and uphold a safe and healthy work environment.
- Understand and execute instructions from supervisors while providing clear guidance to the crew.
- Maintain open communication regarding job status and assigned duties.
- Ensure the job site remains clean and free of hazards.
- Engage in the Performance and Development Review process to align with performance standards.
- Adhere to the Company’s values in all work activities.
- Foster a diverse, inclusive, and respectful workplace free from discrimination and harassment.
- Complete additional tasks as directed by the superintendent or Project Manager.
- Comply with all legal requirements to mitigate potential legal challenges.
- Proficient in operating company tools and equipment.
- Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on teamwork.
- Highly organized with attention to detail.
- Competent computer skills.
- Knowledge of equipment maintenance and repair procedures.
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Foreman or Crew Supervisor in a related field, particularly in carpentry projects.
- A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are necessary for operating company vehicles.
- Ability to climb ladders and scaffolds and work at elevated heights.
- Capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Physical capability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds unassisted.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and wear personal protective equipment as required.
Note: The position may require backfilling for the Superintendent and availability for overtime during the week and on weekends.
