The Superintendent collaborates closely with Project Engineers, Project Managers, Owners, Subcontractors, and various stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. This role also provides opportunities for interaction with Clients, Architects, Engineers, and Consultants to define project scope and budget. The primary focus of the Superintendent is on project planning, financial performance, scheduling, and ensuring successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee project components in alignment with Owner and Subcontractor agreements, including specifications, drawings, and contractual conditions.
  • Interpret and analyze blueprints for effective communication with owners, architects, management, and construction teams.
  • Evaluate self-performed work and processes, providing recommendations for enhanced efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Uphold rigorous compliance standards, including safety protocols.
  • Engage with field crews, understanding MYC's operations and ensuring adherence to project timelines and deadlines.
  • Mentor and develop Project Engineers, Carpenters, and Laborers.
  • Handle administrative duties such as personnel management, timekeeping, and expense reporting.
  • Occasionally assist with estimating and performing quantity take-offs.
  • Ensure site safety by liaising with MYC staff and Safety Consultants regarding safety issues and policies.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Experience with large-scale retail projects (Big Box Stores).
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management from an accredited institution, or five years of relevant experience in the commercial construction sector.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting construction documents for commercial and civil projects.
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as ICBO, ASTM, ANSI, ACI, UMC, etc.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with Managers and Vendors.
  • Adept at problem-solving and analyzing various tangible factors.
  • Willingness to travel out of town and potentially out of state for a significant portion of the year.
  • Availability to work night shifts as required.
